A light hearted post.

The jacket with a very low self esteem.

It was my husbands birthday earlier this month and he got a Woolworths voucher from my mom.

This is what he bought!

Well not this exact item, but an item like it!

I can’t tell you how much I hate these jackets. They make me cringe and remind my of  “The Jerry Springer show”. I don’t quite know why though. I just don’t get the point of them. If you are cold why not put on A PROPER JACKET. Not half a jacket.

I call ‘it’ the jacket with a low self esteem. I mean if you are going to be a jacket be a whole jacket, not just part of a jacket.  Ai!!! (And that is my sense of humour)

While in Woolworths negotiating the purchase I pleaded even begged him not to buy it. But he refused to listen to me and bought it anyway. Sadly I know that it will now just hang in the cupboard, as I have made it clear that he is not allowed to wear it in my presence. (See there is the brat in me!)

FYI – There are clothes that I have that he equally hates that I don’t wear anymore.

So who likes the jacket!!!

Please tell me what the point is? Maybe I am missing out

  1. Hahahahaha! Ginger, you’re so funny! W also loves these sleeveless things, he says its because he doesn’t really get cold but on the very cold days he wants something to keep his body warm but still have his arms free, I dunno I guess its either that or perhaps they do belong on Jerry!!!

  2. Lol… I hate them too!!!

The only time any items looking remotely close to that should be worn is as a life jacket.

  3. Blaah blaaagh ,blaaaa. When i wear it and landing in water and need to stay afloat …..and it saves my life …WHO will then have the last laugh!!!!!!!!!

    Sleeves are for fags

  4. LOL! I wear something similar, I hate the feeling of a jacket on my arms, it feels all clumsy and thick, and prefer my arms to have something light, especially when I’m working. When it get bitterly cold then I will wear a full jacket.

  5. wow – didn’t even know woolworth’s still existed. haven’t seen one in years. knowing now that they have such *awesome* clothes as the one picture above i really wish we still had one near by…. :-)

  6. hi! i also don’t like them at all!
I wanted to say something to you about your upcoming FET. It is true that the chances are slightly less, but it does work for some people so you really nevr know! Wishing you all the best for it, Fran

  7. I’m with Elize on this one. Plus a long sleeved shirt underneath and it is easier to regulate my body temp.

Personally, I would prefer to move someplace warm and not own any jackets.

  8. My Hubby loves vests – not usually with hoods, though. He has 6 or 7 different vests in different colors and weights (most of them fleece). When it’s cold out he just needs a little something to wear and still work in without sweating his butt off. I’m not a fan of that quilted version…just my opinion though :) .

  9. I never understand any kind of vest. I never have a cold torso and hot arms.

  10. They’re called body warmers actually ;) and they really are quite nice to have cos sometimes you want to be luke warm and these allow for that…

  13. I know this is your blog and I don’t want to offend you or anything, but I kind of like it *ducks out of hitting range* ;o) I have a down filled vest and I LOVE that thing! Although, I’m not sure I’d wear a sleeveless vest….

  14. I’ve never really understood the point either…I’m with you…why not a true jacket, and/or long sleeves? NOT an in-between-er.

    :)
