Take a load off.

Right so I have been thinking about this quite a lot lately and Sharon has inspired me to write about it. She has done so well with her goals and her health of late. I really am inspired. And by the way I am still thinking about that embarassing moment I have to write about. I am a bit stuck at the moment.

This is the problem…..

What you see here is ten kilos of difference. And I myself am totally disgusted. The disgust come from the fact that I have let it become so out of control. I have been wondering lately……Why? Maybe……
Excuses Excuses!: I know what happens. I eat enough to maintain my weight. And then I go on a trip away and eat tons of hotel food, returning a good two kilos bigger. And then do nothing about it. So my weight is then maintained again. Every year I promise myself that this is going to be my ‘thin year’ and then I never get around to doing it.
“I’ll start next week”
“I’m too stressed at the moment”
Blah blah blah blah blah!
Setting myself up for failure: So everytime I plan to do something I set really strict goals. Like…….Must do six hours of exercise per week, no alcolohol, no fat, no coffee, no smoking, no carbs. So by the time I have skipped an exercise day, smoked a few cigs, and drank my three morning cups of coffee and polished off a bottle of wine…..I’m like……NEXT WEEK.
So I don’t know….but one thing is for sure. I am feeling terrible. Tired, and very unhealthy. So the plan is. I am going to book a session with Ann Till and associates AND I am starting an adult Hip Hop dancing class next week. Lets see now.

  1. You won’t be sorry about going to Ann Till, its the most awesom eating plan. I’m exactly like you, I feel like I have to feel deprived and have nothing of the things I enjoy in order to be on a diet. But with their eating plan I’m still allowed treats twice a week, I’m still allowed a glass or two of wine and I’m still allowed COFFEE!!! :-) I exercise 5 times a week, but only for 40 minutes at a time. They just helped me set far more realistic goals and the fact that you pay to go for follow up sessions helps me hold myself accountable.
You go girl, I promise you won’t regret it!

  2. Sian, Anne Till is the way to go. Like Shaz said they give you reasonable goals and allow a treat here and there – cos you still have to live life after all… It is an easy to follow life change diet. You will lose weight and you will feel more like your old self.

Enjoy and good luck! Keep us posted!!

  3. The forced periods of inactivity during IVF cycles certainly don’t help any. I know that different REs have different suggestions, but mine prohibits most forms of movement. Basically bedrest during ER day, then very limited activity for a few days, then during 2WW no lifting anything or exercise of any kind. If BFP, still no exercise allowed. I wish I could be one of those active pregnant ladies who is still running marathons in the 9th month — not that I’m that way normally! Just a fantasy, I guess, one of many. If my active lifestyle fantasy is not possible, I’ll happily accept just the pregnant part.

Good luck to you with your new regimen!! Especially the hip hop, that is so much fun.
